Where the Mountains
Come Home

Perched on 16.93 acres of Catskill Mountain splendor, Elliot Place is a magnificently restored 19th-century farmhouse — a six-bedroom sanctuary where light pours through every room and the silence of the mountains settles in like a long exhale.

The wrap-around veranda stretches the full length of the house, furnished for long summer afternoons. An original fireplace commands the ground floor. A dramatic master suite opens to a private balcony with mountain views. Outside, a bluestone patio, fire circle, bocce court, and the historic three-story barn complete the picture.

This is not a hotel. It is a private estate — entirely yours.

Six Bedrooms,
One Extraordinary Estate

Every room tells its own story — from the sun-washed lower-floor suites with their period millwork and antique furnishings, to the dramatic cathedral-ceilinged master suite with its private balcony and mountain views. Wide-plank hardwoods, original woodwork, and carefully chosen art run throughout.

The Master

The estate's crown jewel. Cathedral ceilings with exposed timber beams soar above a king bed, original fireplace, and private deck overlooking the Catskills. A crystal chandelier presides over the spa bathroom with its clawfoot soaking tub and rain shower. A vintage Remington typewriter sits on the wood stove — invitation enough.

The Barn

Elliot Place is one of the original two farms on the mountain — a working property that predates the Civil War. The three-story barn that stands at the edge of the meadow is not a restoration. It is the original structure, still wearing the weathered dignity of nearly two centuries.

Its massive hand-hewn timbers, original sliding doors, and dormered upper story have watched generations come and go. Today it anchors the property as a dramatic backdrop for bonfires, a subject of wonder for guests who walk its grounds at dusk, and a reminder of what this land has always been — working, breathing, alive.

The windmill nearby, a red-tailed hawk's favorite perch, still turns in the mountain wind. The fire circle in the meadow, ringed by red Adirondack chairs, is where evenings at Elliot Place tend to end — wood smoke, stars, and the quiet of the Catskills settling in.

Life Outside

From the sweeping wrap-around porch where mornings begin, to the bluestone patio for outdoor dining, to the fire circle where evenings end — Elliot Place is as much an outdoor estate as an indoor one.

The Fireplace Room

At the center of the ground floor, the original fireplace holds court behind a black painted surround and exposed red brick wall. The vaulted pine-beaded ceiling above it was uncovered during restoration — original to the house. This is where the estate gathers on cold evenings: wine on the mantle, fire lit, the staircase with its carved newel post just behind.

The stained glass front door — original to the 19th-century house — casts colored light across the foyer floor in the afternoon. Every original detail has been kept.

The Most Unexpected Room

Deep plum walls, a brass sputnik chandelier, and Windsor chairs around a farm table for ten. The white oryx presides from the wall. This is where the estate reveals its personality most fully — a room that collects the extraordinary and invites long dinners.

Words from Our Guests

★★★★★

"An extraordinary property — the scale of it took our breath away the moment we drove up. The mountains, the barn, the deck at golden hour... we didn't want to leave."

— The Morrison Family, New York
★★★★★

"We've rented many Catskill properties over the years. Nothing comes close to Elliot Place. The space, the quiet, the setting — it's in a category of its own."

— Sarah & James T., Brooklyn
★★★★★

"Our annual family reunion finally had a home worthy of the occasion. 12 of us stayed and felt we could have had 20 more. The barn alone is worth the trip."
